Strange...

“Love makes you do strange things…” yeah whatever thought Kiki. Time and again someone, somebody and even nobody, had rubbed it in her face the thing about love! Okay so it was a four letter word and meant the world to many a fool.

Sex and Cigarettes

She was late today. It was fifteen minutes passed three. It was past her usual ‘ciggy break’ time. Sid had known all her timings. This would be her fifth cigarette for the day. And if she had the time, she would smoke a joint.
Sid had helped her light a match when he noticed she wasn’t comfortable using matches. That had been the first time they had met. Friendship blossomed instantly. Three years had gone by. They had gone from being random pals to good pals. He went for her birthday parties and she let him treat her on his birthdays. But like she said, “I am just Bee to you!”

Riding with Willy

I loved Willy. He was the best really. Better than my own people. I remember the day I met him. It is very clear in my head, my most vivid memory actually. It was a sunny day. Bright sunny that makes you want to go out and take a deep breath. Sunny but pleasant when the sun rays don’t hurt you and all you want to do is to prance about.

The Assignment II

Kira had had enough of the snow. It was so white that it would blind her. But she had to admit, it was beautiful. Now only if the cold wasn't biting into her skin, she would have been happier.

The Assignment I

This was a different assignment. Very different indeed. There was almost nothing that she hadn't tried before. She was a good photographer and hence, the transitions came easily.
She wasn't formally trained but to simply explain her talent was to say she was gifted. Kira kept going round and about in her office chair. She was happy the way things were turning out- she had her own little office and work was good. She was a great fashion photographer and so much more.

Into the Unknown Part III

What was he concentrating on? The people around him--he had no interest in them. The hustle-bustle in side the compartment did not perturb him.
It was incredible how a tiny innocuous roach caught his attention. How had it got in there? Without anyone squashing it with just one stomp of their foot? How could it scurry across without anyone noticing it or some woman shrieking?

Into the Unknown II

The steel bench at the platform had been warmer. If not warm, yet watching the stray pup curling into its mother seemed comforting. Now he was in constant motion.

Into the Unknown Part I

The empty bench comforted him in someways. He was glad of the isolation. The flies buzzing over his head in the yellowjaundice-like lamp light had no effect on him. The platform was almost empty. Just a few stray dogs here and there. They too were asleep. It was past midnight and last local train would be there in ten minutes.

Dolly

The cold room looked more like a morgue to him. The antiseptic odor in the past had made his nauseous but not anymore. Surrounded by hoards of machines he lay quietly. Something he had not done in a long time. He had always been up to something. Today, he was bound by syringes and saline that kept dripping colourlessly into the pipe.

Reality or Dream?

The piercing shrill of the alarm jolted Karim out of his sleep. Fuck! 7 am already! Bloody hell! It felt like he had just slept and now it was morning already. No more snoozing else the editor would have his ass for lunch! Time to get up Karim...he remembered Shiren's sweet smile. But she was gone now. Good for her, the stupid cow. He thought. She had taken every single thing that would remind him of her
