The bold and the beautiful, the young and the restless were all there, walking across the golden star-speckled carpet as they made their way to the ballroom of Grand Hyatt on Saturday night for the People Best Dressed night in association with UTV Stars and World Gold Council.

The cocktail chatter was on with the bar bursting with Teacher’s Origin, the celebration partner for the event, Jim Beam and other spirits and cocktails. After a long, happy spirited wait, it was time for the Mercedes-Benz Best Dressed Show with celebrated couturier Manish Malhotra showcasing his signature style of opulent glam Indian wear on female and male models.

The shining showstopper was People cover girl Priyanka Chopra. Yes, this former Miss World has been through an amazing journey, from gauche to gorgeous, and says, “I wear confidence,” when asked about her best fashion accessory. The Bollywood babe was dazzling in a scene-stealing electric blue velvet lehenga with ornate embroidery.

And soaking up the styles on the ramp and making their very own style statement were the likes of Rahul Khanna, Karan Johar, Imran Khan, Dia Mirza, Urmila Matondkar, Jackie Bhagnani, Gul Panag, Natasha Poonawalla, Sameera Reddy, Mandira Bedi, Anushka Manchanda, Shveta Salve, Daboo Ratnani and Poorna Jagannathan.

All eyes were on the party people and the Mercedes-Benz CLS Class on display. Many people looked like they wished they could drive it into the night.
